Companionship
Companionship is a side of care which can often be overlooked in the hustle and bustle of modern life. People often associate at-home care with physical help – such as day-to-day tasks, showering or dressing – but the truth is that many of our clients are simply looking for company and friendship.

My mum’s got all her things around her, she’s got more freedom and 1-1 with the carers. She sleeps better, eats better, is more content and can go out when she likes.

Older people are especially vulnerable to loneliness. Research conducted by Age UK suggests that 3.6 million older people in the UK live alone, and more than a million older people say they go for more than a month without speaking to anyone. Loneliness and social isolation can have a serious effect on health, which is why we offer a Companionship care service.
We are delighted to offer Companionship as one of our core services – it perfectly matches our ethos of ‘People, above all else’, helping elderly people live fulfilling lives at home. Our bespoke care plan development carefully matches clients with their Caregivers to ensure that they have common interests and that their character traits are well matched. Our Caregivers are there to help prepare lunch, play a board game, or even simply have a chat with our clients – be it about the weather, books, or reminiscing about the past.
Our care services start at a minimum of one hour. We believe that it is impossible to deliver a high-quality care service in a time slot shorter than this. Our Caregivers therefore have the chance to develop meaningful relationships with their clients, free from the pressure of having to move on.

Why choose Unique Senior Care?
We only directly employ Caregivers who we would allow to care for our own loved ones.
Our Caregivers understand the need for punctuality.
Where possible, we always strive to send the same Caregivers.
100% of our offices are rated Outstanding or Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Our Caregiver training is rated best in class by our Industry Peers.
We don’t believe quality care can be delivered in 15 or 30 minutes, so our minimum call duration is 60 minutes.
Our clients and families feedback has rated us as a Top 20 group homecare provider in 2024 (and previously in 2021, 2022 and 2023).
