At Unique Senior Care, we know how important continuity is when it comes to care. Seeing the same familiar faces helps build trust, strengthens relationships, and ensures a smoother experience for both clients and their families.
How Many Caregivers Will I Have?
The number of Caregivers assigned to a client depends on the size and frequency of their care package. We always strive to keep the team as small as possible, typically two to three Caregivers, to ensure consistency while allowing for flexibility. This approach provides reliable care while also considering the need for days off and scheduling requirements.
Why Continuity Matters
Having familiar Caregivers helps build strong relationships and ensures a personalised approach to care. When Caregivers work regularly with the same client, they understand their preferences, routines, and unique needs, making daily support more comfortable and effective. They can also spot any changes in health or wellbeing promptly.
We aim to provide care from the same team of Caregivers as much as possible. However, when a new Caregiver is needed, we ensure they are properly introduced and familiar with the client’s care plan before stepping in.
What If a Client Doesn’t Get On with a Caregiver?
Finding the right match is important. If a client feels uncomfortable with a particular Caregiver, we will make adjustments as soon as possible. Our priority is to ensure that every client feels safe, respected, and at ease with the Caregivers supporting them.
How Do We Match Caregivers with Clients?
During the consultation stage, our Care Manager takes the time to understand the client’s personality, preferences, and care needs. We consider:
- Personal likes and dislikes
- Daily routines and care preferences
- Specific requirements such as mobility support or dietary needs
By carefully matching Caregivers to clients, we help create a positive, familiar, and reassuring care environment.
Keeping Care Consistent
Our approach ensures clients receive care at familiar times from the same small team of Caregivers. While there may be occasions when a different Caregiver steps in, we do everything possible to minimise changes and keep care consistent.
For families, knowing their loved one is supported by a trusted team provides peace of mind, allowing them to feel confident that care needs are being met reliably and compassionately.
FAQs: Common Questions About Caregiver Continuity
Most clients will have two to three regular Caregivers, depending on the number of calls they need. This is to maintain consistency while allowing for scheduling flexibility.
If a client feels uncomfortable, we will work with you to address any issues and arrange for a different Caregiver who is a better fit.
We strive to provide consistency, but due to scheduling and things like sickness and holidays, there may be times when another Caregiver steps in. This is why you have a small team of Caregivers, so you'll always see a familiar face who knows you and your care plan.
Caregivers and clients are carefully matched based on the client’s preferences, routine, and care needs to create a comfortable and effective care experience.
