A fantastic result
Our Solihull office received an ‘Outstanding’ rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This makes us the only Outstanding rated homecare provider, specialising in elderly care in Solihull. The CQC praised our ongoing commitment to putting people at the heart of our service, from the attentiveness of our caregivers to the support of our clients. They said:
“People were supported by care staff who were trained and supported by the management team. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.”
Under the CQC’s programme of inspections, all adult social care services are given a rating according to whether they are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. CQC’s report ‘State of Care 2020/21’, shows that only 5% of adult social care services inspected (as at 31 July 2021) were rated ‘Outstanding’.
‘People above all else’
Here at Unique Senior Care we focus on one key area: people. It doesn’t matter how simple or complex our clients’ needs are, we care for each person with dignity and compassion. We were therefore delighted that the report found that our clients and their families were enthusiastic about our service:
“People and their relatives told us how the care staff became part of their family and they looked forward to their visits. One relative told us, ‘I am just really pleased I can rely on them [care staff] and I don’t have to worry about [person] being on their own.’”
Our wonderful caregivers were also specifically praised by CQC inspectors, who stated that:
“Staff were passionate about their role and the care they provided to people. They worked closely with people and their families to really understand the person and not just the care tasks needed…One relative told us, “On occasions they [care staff] even stay longer, just to make sure [person] is comfortable or even just to sit and have a cup of tea and a chat with them. They will go the extra mile if they can and are so kind to them.””
