Are you thinking about working in care? It’s a sector that is as flexible as it is rewarding. Every day is different, and you’ll have the chance to make a real difference in people’s lives.
At Unique Senior Care, we understand that life is busy and we all have other commitments. That’s why we’ve made our work schedules flexible. Whether you need to balance other responsibilities or want a job that fits with your lifestyle, you can build a career that’s shaped around you.
For example, Abbie is one of our dedicated carers who is also a student paramedic. Her story is a perfect example of how our flexible scheduling allows for a fulfilling career in care while pursuing educational goals. She discusses how her career has not only given her more financial freedom alongside her studies but supplemented her theoretical learning with first-hand experience.
How Soon Can I Start?
Starting as a Caregiver with Unique Senior Care can typically take around three weeks from application to placement. As soon as you apply, we’ll guide you through our onboarding portal. The quicker you submit your documents here, the faster we can move the process forward and get you started in your new career.
During the recruitment process, we’ll complete essential compliance checks to ensure everything is in order for your new role. Safety and quality are our top priorities, both for you and our clients. If there are any delays it’s usually due to the DBS Police Checks.
Training is a big part of the preparation. You’ll go through e-learning modules that you can complete at your own pace. This is followed by a comprehensive three-day face-to-face induction. This training ensures you’re fully equipped with the knowledge and skills you need to provide the best care.
Flexibility in Caregiving
At Unique Senior Care, we know our carers have diverse lives and commitments. That’s why our work hours are flexible. When it comes to the question of how many hours can a carer work a week, our carers can work as little as 16 hours a week which makes it easier to fit care work around other important things in their lives.
We promote work-life balance by asking all our Caregivers to work alternate weekends. This policy makes it fair for everyone, ensuring each person has time for their personal lives.
Most of our care visits fall between 7am-10am and 6pm-10pm, which can work well for those who have daytime commitments, like other jobs, childcare commitments or studies. While of course, some visits will fall outside of these core hours, these timings enable our part-time carers to manage their schedule without compromising their ability to provide quality care.
Our aim is simple: to ensure a career in care with us is as rewarding and manageable as possible, fitting seamlessly into your life and helping you balance all your commitments. We believe this flexibility is essential for the wellbeing of both our clients and our carers.
Ensuring Quality with Minimum One-Hour Visits
Each visit to a client is at least one hour long. We don’t believe in rushing care so this one-hour minimum means you have time to provide quality care, build a connection with your clients, and ensure their needs are fully met. We don’t believe it’s possible to provide quality care in half-hour or fifteen-minute visits as, with us, it’s not just about ticking boxes. We pride ourselves on providing meaningful support that makes a real difference in someone’s day and part of this involves giving you the time and headspace to care effectively.
This National Careers Week is here, there’s no better time to kickstart your new career. We make our work hours flexible, so it fits with your life. Whether you’re studying, like our Caregiver Abbie, or you have other things to take care of, we can work around it. If you want a job that matters and fits your schedule, get in touch with us or check our website to start your journey in care.
This National Careers Week is the perfect time to start a rewarding career in care. We understand the importance of flexible work hours that fit your lifestyle.
