What is a companionship care service?
Companionship care offers support and company for those who may feel isolated or need a bit of help day to day. It’s all about building real connections and making sure each day feels that little bit brighter - whether that’s heading out somewhere you enjoy, sharing a cup of tea and a chat, or simply spending time together doing things you love, all in the comfort of your own home.

Is it right for you?
Companionship care can make such a difference for anyone who feels lonely or could use some extra support. It’s perfect for:
- Older adults who live alone and would love social interaction and a friendly face to brighten their day.
- People recovering from an illness or injury who need a bit of help staying connected while they get back on their feet.
- Families who are caring for a loved one and could use some time to rest, knowing that someone trusted is there to help.
Whether it’s about easing loneliness, getting practical support, or just having someone there to share life’s little moments, this type of care is tailored to suit what you need.
It’s available as part of both hourly care - where visits are arranged around your schedule- and live-in care, which provides full-time support for those who need someone there throughout the day and night.

How changes lives
Loneliness affects so many people, especially as they get older. According to Age UK, around 1 in 14 people aged 65 and over in the UK - nearly 940,000 people - often feel lonely, and 270,000 older people in England go a whole week without speaking to a friend or family member.
It’s hard to imagine the impact that can have on someone’s wellbeing, which is why having the right companionship can make such a difference.
Finding independence through the right companionship
After a serious accident, Angharad found that having the right Caregivers changed everything. They’re there to help with practical tasks, but more than that, they’re there to spend time with her. From cooking together to watching TV and getting out and about, her Carers have brought connection and independence back into her life.

"Without my carers I would be very alone at home… I wouldn't have anyone to talk to or do stuff with. I would be stuck without my carers."

How we match you with the right Caregiver
Good companionship starts with a good match. We take time to understand what matters to you - your interests, routines, and the type of person you’d enjoy spending time with.
Depending on how often you have care, you’ll be supported by a small, consistent team. That means you’ll never have a stranger at the door, just familiar faces who get to know you properly. Over time, they’ll learn your likes and dislikes, how you prefer to spend your day, and what a good or more difficult day might look like for you.
That level of understanding means you’ll always receive the right kind of support, and any changes in your wellbeing can be spotted quickly. Aside from providing good company, it’s about building trust and real relationships.
“The two live in carers looking after my mum were amazing!”
Live in care allows your loved one to stay in the comfort of their own home while receiving compassionate, one-to-one support from familiar Caregivers. It’s a more personalised alternative to a care home that helps maintain independence, well-being, and connection to their community.

What to expect from your first visit
We know inviting someone new into your home can feel like a big step, especially if you haven’t had care before. That’s why we take our time and focus on making you feel comfortable from the very beginning.
Your first visit is simply about getting to know each other. Your Care Manager will attend on the first day to introduce your Caregiver and help make sure things get off to a great start.
